Spring 2025 Clinical Research Course – Save the Date!!

Attention senior fellows and junior faculty - are you interested in developing your research skills

from leading scientists in the field of pediatric critical care? Join us for PALISI’s Clinical Research

Course on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 7:30am - 5:30pm. This one-day intensive workshop

is designed to expose junior investigators to key components of a research career and build

connections in the PALISI community. Topics will include building connections, developing your

research program, cultivating collaborations, reviewing specific aims, discussing strategies for

your professional success, and more!

This year participants will register for one of two tracks. You will be asked to choose your track

upon registration, and you will spend roughly half of the day within your track.

  • Collaborative Clinician-Researcher - for those interested in roles such as collaborative

investigator or site PI with a local clinical research or quality improvement scholarly

focus

  • Independent Clinician-Scientist* - for those aiming to lead independently funded

research programs

*If you are registering for the Independent Clinician-Scientist track, you must

submit a Specific Aims page for review during the Specific Aims Workshop. If you

are interested but do not feel prepared to submit this sample work, please don't

hesitate to reach out to the course directors for guidance. Specific Aims will be

requested in advance of the meeting and all late registrants will be placed in the

Collaborative Clinician-Researcher track.

Please note that repeat course participation is always welcome, especially if you've participated

in the past and now have better-defined specific aims that you would like to review! Get more information at https://www.palisi.org/clinicalresearchcourse

Platform Trial Call for Follow Up Core, Biorepository, CCC and DCC Applications

Dear PALISI Members,

As we shared at the Fall PALISI meeting, the PALISI Platform Executive Design Committee and multiple

subcommittees have been making great progress in the design of the adaptive platform trial. We have conducted successful calls for applications for Follow Up Coordinating Center, Biorepository, CCC, and

DCC. Application deadlines have now passed, and interviews and decisions are now in process. We look

forward to announcing choices for these important roles in our PALISI Platform at the Santa Fe meeting.

Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network HCT-Cancer Immunotherapy Subgroup and HLH session

The Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network HCT-Cancer Immunotherapy Subgroup is dedicated to improving the health and survival of children who require critical care during and following hematopoietic cell transplantation and/or cancer immunotherapies, through collaborative clinical and translational research. The Spring 2025 Subgroup Meeting will occur independently of the main PALISI Meeting at Duke’s Karsh Almuni Center on March 12, 2025. Final Agenda to be released in March 2025. The subgroup meeting is open to all interested registrants.

Registrants for Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) Across Pediatric Specialties: Spotlight on Immune Effector Cell HLH Like Syndrome are encouraged to also register for the PALISI HCT-Cancer Immunotherapy Meeting on March 12th, 2025, but this is not required.

Membership Management on Morweb

Membership and registration are now occurring exclusively on our Morweb platform, including

many recent enhancements such as a full accounting history available online to each site’s lead

administrator (“site lead”). Please use this site to manage all credit purchases, credit uses for

meetings, and meeting signups: https://palisimembers.morwebcms.com/

We know there remain occasional hurdles using the system and we appreciate your patience. Almost all attendees arrived to the Fall meeting fully preregistered, and a few arrived without a complete pre-meeting registration. Please work with us to be among the fully preregistered. Although we can quickly accommodate on-site attendees, it is always best for conference room capacity and food/beverage estimation for registrations to be in advance. Please email admin@palisi.org if you have any remaining issues with site membership and conference registration issues.
