Impact of Duty Hour Structure on the Well-being of Trainees During Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship in the US: A National Survey
Dear Colleagues,
We are asking you to participate in a research study if you are currently a pediatric critical care fellow. If you work with a pediatric critical care fellow, please forward this email to them. This study aims to assess the impact of duty hour structure on physician trainee well-being during pediatric critical care fellowship. The study involves answering questions in a survey about wellness. It may take approximately 10 minutes to complete the survey. You will need to complete the survey in one sitting. If at any time you stop the survey and no longer wish to participate, your responses will be discarded. Please complete this survey once.
Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. Your decision to participate (or not participate) in this study will not affect your performance evaluation or assessment during your training. Your supervisors will not be able to see your answers or if you participated. Risks are minimal. All information will be kept confidential and your responses anonymous. Identifiable data will not be collected. There is no direct benefit nor cost for your participation, but the information learned from the research may help medical training programs reorganize their clinical schedule structure based on results of this research. By submitting a response, you consent to participate in the survey research. This survey was reviewed and given exempt status by the IRB at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Please contact Nasreen Noor, MD at nasreen-noor@ouhsc.edu for any questions, comments or concerns.
Thank you very much for your time. We truly appreciate your involvement with this project.
