PALISI Network Executive Committee Statement on Women's Health

The Executive Committee of the PALISI Network is deeply concerned about the ramifications of the June 2022 Supreme Court decision on Dobbs v. Jackson and about any future legislative actions that could limit access to equitable, quality healthcare, particularly for children, adolescents, and young adults with critical illness or injury. Legislation restricting access to reproductive health care denies our patients and our organization’s members the ability to make informed decisions about their healthcare. Such legislation also hinders our organization’s members not only from providing essential clinical care but also from executing robust research to best advise future care. As an organization, the PALISI Network seeks to ensure that when our members are participating in activities sponsored by PALISI, such as our twice-yearly meetings, their ability to make these informed decisions will not be compromised based on geographic location. We urge an open, productive national dialogue between policymakers, the healthcare community, and the public about this issue.
